A big thank you to our dedicated building team comprising one engineer, one quantity surveyor, one lawyer and one civil servant (I leave it to you to deduce whose expertise was most useful in erecting a greenhouse)!  In exchange for lunch and a few bottles of ale these lovely lads who gave up 6 hours of their Saturday to help us out. (Thanks must also go the the engineer’s wife who helped me with the key support tasks of cooking the meal and drinking wine).

Here it is!!

greenhouse

It contains some former mini green house shelves being used as staging, a table and chair. Mellors has paved half the floor with paving stones leaving some raw ground to turn into flower beds. We are going to grow tons of peppers, cucumbers, herbs and tomatoes.

Today we went to the garden centre to pick up some compost and some seeds. This afternoon Mellors planted broad beans and I planted snapdragon seeds – the packet promises me white snapdragons with a lovely fragrance. I’ll plant them out amongst the roses so when we sit outside on long summer evenings they will perfume the air.

I dont know exactly Mike – above freezing or below scorching is the short answer, but it depends what you are growing really. Sorry I cant be more specific. Good luck!
